Seminole Heights Tampa has 3 Neighborhoods
Old Seminole Heights is the largest of the 3 Seminole Heights communities in Tampa. While all are tree-shaded neighborhoods with lots of old bungalows dating back from the early 1900s. Some of these homes are included in our National Register and local Historic Districts. These neighborhoods continue to grow and attract new residents of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds.
There is very a strong, pro-active neighborhood association. The Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association (OSHNA) is the cohesive force within our boundaries and is our collective voice on a myriad of issues affecting our community. As the largest neighborhood association in the city, with over 400 members, it has the attention and respect of our government officials.
How large is Old Seminole Heights? It encompasses all of the property north of Hillsborough Avenue to the Hillsborough River; east of the river to 22nd Street and south of Hillsborough Avenue to Martin Luther King Boulevard between Florida Avenue and I-275.

Southeast Seminole Heights is the next largest of the three neighborhoods. It is a charming neighborhood primarily consisting of restored bungalows. In 2003 Southeast Seminole Heights was nationally recognized as Neighborhood of the Year. SESH is composed of many platted subdivisions, including Demorest, Sultenfuss, Nebraska Heights, Nebraska Park, Shadowlawn, Hanley Heights and McDavid East Seminole Subdivisions among many others. The largest subdivisions are Demorest and Nebraska Heights.
Demorest ranges from Osborne Ave. north to New Orleans from Nebraska to 13th Street and includes sections of Ellicott and Caracas.
Nebraska Heights was surveyed in 1907 and encompasses the area from Osborne to Chelsea from 12th -15th Streets.

South Seminole Heights is a neighborhood of approximately 1,250 homes. The residential homes range from the 1920 bungalows, to ranch style homes of the 50s and 60s, to modern day construction.
There are also several churches, a post office, an elementary school and many types of businesses along three of the borders. The businesses range from used car lots to art studios/galleries, and restaurants.
This is a neighborhood of many beautiful trees and includes a cobblestone street. The most prominent feature of the neighborhood is RivercrestPark running along much of the Hillsborough River as it winds its way from Hillsborough Avenue to Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Tampa Heights is a beautiful community of stately oak trees, brick streets, and dedicated residents to a small-town feeling. Close to downtown and Ybor City, as well as easy access to both I-4 and I-275,Tampa Heights is a central location.
The Mayor's Office has worked with the Preservation Board and Tampa Preservation, Inc. to restore the area by creating the Tampa Heights Historic District. A new development is being planned along the Hillsborough River. The "Community Redevelopment Area" will include multi-family and single-family residences along with office and retail space. Its design is to be in keeping with the architecture of the surrounding neighborhood.
